Prostatitis (Enlarged Prostate)
1. What is prostatitis?
To put it simply, prostatitis is inflammation of the prostate gland. Here are some of the main classifications of prostatitis:
-
Acute bacterial prostatitis – acute infection of the prostate gland, caused by bacteria and may be accompanied by chills and fever.
-
Chronic bacterial prostatitis – recurrent infection of the prostate, is associated with chronic urinary infection. Bacterial prostatitis is caused by organisms commonly associated with urinary tract infections.
-
Nonbacterial prostatitis – inflammation without any evidence of infection present. The cause of nonbacterial prostatitis is unknown.

3. How is prostatitis diagnosed?
Since the prostate lies in front of the rectum, your doctor will most likely perform a digital rectal examination (DRE) by inserting a gloved, lubricated finger into the rectum. By doing this, he or she will be able to feel the prostate and determine if it is enlarged or if it has lumps or other abnormalities. The physician may also check for possible infection or other prostate or urinary tract disorders.

5. How is prostatitis treated?
Acute and chronic bacterial prostatitis is routinely treated with antibiotics however more urologists are beginning to realize the benefits of PC Hope. Unlike antibiotics, PC Hope is made with natural herbal ingredients that have been shown to reduce prostate enlargement/infection. Unlike antibiotics, PC Hope will NOT kill off beneficial strains of bacteria that act as the first line of defense against bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other disease producing microbes. With this unnatural imbalance of bacteria from antibiotics, the body can suffer many symptoms. These include fatigue, gastrointestinal upsets, Candida, severe skin rashes, kidney and renal infections, diarrhea, colitis, hearing loss and many more. Lifestyle changes (diet, stress management) may also be necessary. |
